Stefano Cacciatori, motorboat driver and one of the first to obtain the qualification of authorised captain for tourist navigation in the Po Delta.
Since 2004 he has contributed to developing the family business, perhaps putting economic gain before the guarantee of a quality service for the territory.
His greatest entrepreneurial achievement is undoubtedly having understood years in advance the evolution of the tourist market in the Delta, foreseeing the paradigm shift that has led to a decrease in groups and an exponential increase in individual visitors.
From the early 2000s, it began offering fixed and guaranteed departures, even with just one person on board. An experiment financed by the Ente Parco, which covered the cost of the environmental guide on board the boats, dates back to 2007.
Despite the fact that after only one year the economic situation of the Authority had led to the closure of the project, Stefano's perseverance to leave even with only one paying passenger on board (€13 revenue) has paid off and today the fixed departures with the environmental guide on board, also in English, cover the entire Po Delta Park, with various itineraries departing from Porto Caleri, Pila, Ca' Tiepolo, Canarin, Marina 70, Barricata and Gorino Sullam and the possibility of creating customised itineraries from all the embarkation points in the Delta.
Filippo Cacciatori, Stefano's son, is the sole administrator of Po Delta Excursions.
Passionate about fishing, boating and nature, he is a sailor and has been collaborating with his father for years, providing support for the creation of tourist packages and for the management of individual bookings.
This has given him considerable management skills, which will lead him to coordinate the various services offered by Po Delta Excursions, also thanks to the services of freelancers. Po Delta Excursions also intends to collaborate with Edoardo Cacciatori, Stefano's son and Filippo's brother, owner of Caparin-Escursioni guidate nel Delta.
Edoardo works as a skipper and is the youngest environmental guide working in the Po Delta Park. He is also one of the few who continuously accompanies groups of foreigners and is able to alternate Italian and English during guided tours.
